Outreach

We strive to put our faith in action by working together to positively impact people outside our walls. We desire to bring hope to people in our midst and abroad through what we do.

Our ongoing outreach projects include:

Interfaith Hospitality Network
A group of St.MM folks prepare and serve a meal on a quarterly basis for the homeless participating in our local chapter of the Interfaith Hospitality Network. In addition to having a meal with them, we enjoy playing games with the kids and talking with the adults. We walk away changed by the experience. To learn how you can get involved in this outreach ministry, please contact Dwight Packard (dani.packard@yahoo.com) or Michael Voshefski(mvoshefski@gmail.com)

Habitat for Humanity
We partner with two area churches to help build homes through Habitat for Humanity. To find out when our next work day will be or for additional information, please contact Brian Leary (learyb@readingrock.com).

Food Collection
Non-perishable food items are collected each week and donated to local food banks.

Medicine Bottle Collection
A collection box is available for people to recycle their medicine bottles. We donate them to Matthew 25 Ministries.

Throughout the year, we sponsor other mission activities:

  • free picnics for the people of South Lebanon, a neighboring community
  • Easter egg hunt and cookout
  • money drives to support Episcopal Relief and Development, Episcopal Community Services Foundation, Interfaith Hospitality Network and local food banks

In the past, some of our members have been part of work teams to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
