Worship at St. Mary Magdalene
Celebrating Holy Baptism on Easter Day.
Here’s a description of our worship experiences:
9:30 a.m.: Episcopalians typically follow a traditional pattern of worship according to The Book of Common Prayer. Our morning Holy Communion celebration uses this rich resource and an array of traditional and modern hymns to praise God. We find ritual and symbols helpful in creating reverent (but not stuffy) worship, so you’ll find candles and banners adorning our worship space and some people making the sign of the cross. A children’s message is usually offered and nursery care is provided.
5:00 p.m.:
Keep in touch and we will let you know our plans as they develop.
Although we offer different worship styles at different times, both worship experiences have some common characteristics:
- children are encouraged to participate
- most people dress casually
- sermons relate to everyday life
- the entire service is either printed out or projected so many can participate with ease without memorizing responses or fumbling through several worship books
- Holy Communion is usually celebrated
